Movado, Artist Collection

First introduced in 1987, Gedalio Grinberg owner of Movado created a compilation of watches with world-renowned modern artists, according to their personal concept of time. The Movado artist series reflects decades of collaborations creating wearable works of art.

Designed by Max Bill in 1993, this Movado limited edition watch is produced in sterling silver with rainbow enamelling in the central links and a concealed folding signed clasp. The watch has a 44mm octagonal case with a multi-coloured rainbow dial and a sapphire crystal exhibition case back displaying the signed manual wind ETA calibre 2801-2 movement. This limited edition watch is number is 78 of 99 and comes with the original Movado box.

The vision of Brazilian pop-artist Romero Britto, this 1994 ‘Children of the World’ limited edition watch is produced with a 34mm gold plated round case and features an orange and pink painted dial depicting a section of the painting 'Children of the World'. The watch has a sapphire crystal exhibition case back displaying the manual wind ETA calibre 7001 movement and is fitted to an encompassing rubber strap with the continuation of the 'Children of the World' painting and a black plastic pin buckle. This limited edition watch is number 08 of 99 and comes with the original Movado box.

This limited edition 1990 Movado ‘Colour of Time’ watch was designed by Kunstleruhr Von Arman in 1990 and is produced with a 35mm sterling silver round case with red and yellow paintbrush motif lugs. The watch features a white dial with multi-coloured paintbrush hour markers and is powered by the signed manual wind ETA calibre 7001 movement. The watch is fitted to a black leather strap with a double-folding clasp. This limited edition watch is number 167 of 180 and comes with the original Movado box.

The Movado 'Elapse, Eclipse, Ellipse' was designed by artist James Rosenquist in 1991 and holds three manual wind movements in a 34mm sterling silver case. The Elapse dial is created in a pointillist style and depicts a knife, fork and spoon, representing the elapsed time between meals. The Eclipse dial represents a meteor eclipsing planet earth, and the Ellipse dial represents the earth as seen from outer space. The watch is fitted to a blue and silver leather strap with an enamel folding clasp. This limited edition watch is number 158 of 180 and comes with the original Movado box.
