Last week Tudor held a press event in London to mark the launch of the Heritage Black Bay Dark at this year’s Baselworld.
Attendees were walked through the history, inspiration and technology behind the newly launched Heritage Black Bay Dark before entering a private viewing room to try on the new model.
The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Dark is a steel divers’ watch entirely in black steel fitted with a mechanical movement, developed, manufactured and assembled in-house by TUDOR. The key characteristic feature of the Heritage Black Bay Dark is its black PVD-treated case. This PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) treatement gives the model an entirely satin finish, much like the appearance of black military equipment.
The new Tudor Heritage Black Bay Dark is available on a black PVD-treated steel bracelet, a black aged leather strap with matt black PVD-treated folding clasp and safety catch or a fabric strap with black PVD-treated buckle.
In addition to the private viewing of the Black Bay Dark, also on display, and of much interest to the guests, were the historic Tudor Submariner models 7923 and 7924 dating from 1955 and 1958 respectively. These rare models were displayed alongside the prized Tudor Only Watch which sold for more than 100 times its value at the Only Watch Auction in November 2015.
