Discovering the Ladies’ Patek Philippe Timepieces at Prestons Wilmslow

How long have you worked at Prestons Wilmslow and why did you want to work there?

I can’t quite believe it - it will be 29 years this year. I originally started my career at Cottrills, based in Bramhall, which was later rebranded to Prestons. I had always wanted to work with luxury products and when I moved to Prestons Wilmslow, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work with some of the World’s finest brands including Patek Philippe.

What do you love about Patek Philippe as a brand?

I once had the privilege of visiting the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva, which was incredible and gave me a real insight into Patek Philippe’s production since its foundation in 1839. I found the craftsmanship of each watch fascinating. The brand only crafts approximately 60,000 wristwatches per year so each timepiece is incredibly special. It is amazing that each individual part of the movement and cases are produced, finished and assembled in-house.

What’s your favourite Patek Philippe watch? 

My favourite is a very versatile feminine watch, the Patek Philippe Twenty-4. Launched in 1999, the Twenty~4 was the first exclusive feminine Patek Philippe collection, designed as a companion for the life of modern, active women. Wearable at any time of day and night, with versions in diamond-set rose gold or stainless steel, it is perfect for every occasion.

The Twenty-4 collection is offered in two visual styles; manchette-style featuring a quartz movement and the more rounded, slightly larger case style, which is the automatic. For me, the Twenty~4 with the olive-green sunburst dial, introduced in 2022, is my favourite. It feels incredibly comfortable on the wrist and the diamonds set either side of the dial are so elegant. It’s somehow both classic and contemporary - it would suit any outfit and any occasion. The Twenty~4 Automatic was introduced in 2018, it was the first model of the collection with a self-winding mechanical movement in a round case. Personally, I really like the larger case of this wristwatch. I have worked with Patek Philippe since 2002 and with each new release, the brand has added another exceptional model, each of which have become classics, the Twenty-4, the Calatrava and the Gondolo, to name just a few.

What makes the experience of buying a Patek Philippe special?

For me, there is something so special about purchasing a Patek Philippe. It is often to celebrate a moment in their life, perhaps a promotion or an anniversary, a milestone or a birthday and the experience of purchasing that cherished wristwatch becomes a memory in itself.
