"A contemporary twist on antique design, this electric blue tourmaline adds a modern element to this traditional cluster style..."

Cocktail Rings

The Splendour of Paraiba Vintage Cocktail Ring

Reminiscent of 19th Century Russian Splendour, this antique inspired cocktail cluster captures the grand majesty and magnificence of Romanov Dynasty’s final ball. Here, a 1.47ct cushion cut electric turquoise paraiba tourmaline is set at the centre of an enchanting double halo of exceptional oval and round brilliant cut white diamonds totalling 1.58ct. Our design team has hand-selected each white diamond for their exceptional D-E colour and their VS clairity. This cocktail cluster is finished in a bespoke platinum mount with milgrain edging.

Your Chosen Design Explained...

At Prestons we understand that choosing a piece of jewellery is a very personal decision. Here we explore the individual elements of your chosen design and how they combine to create the value and beauty of this incredible piece.

Tourmaline

The term tourmaline was derived from the Singhalese phrase ‘tura mali’ meaning, stone mixed with vibrant colours. The incredible wealth of colours shown throughout this semi-precious gemstone are a direct result of the chemical elements each stone is exposed too. Tourmaline can be found in all manner of vivid colours, from vibrant peach to electrifying neon blue. In some instances, gemstones can be found with a distinctive two-tone pattern, predominantly pink and green, known as watermelon tourmaline.

A Cocktail Style

Throughout history, this style of statement jewellery was often noted for its use of vibrant or distinctive coloured gemstones. Each piece of jewellery is hand-crafted as a symbol of creative and personal expression, adorned with diamonds or extraordinary semi-precious or precious gemstones to truly showcase your own personality and style. In each design, you will often see larger carat weight, bold lines and distinctive shapes.

The Cushion Cut

This diamond shape has been around for almost 200 years and, like the round brilliant cut, is often a popular choice. This cushion cut diamond offers the wearer an antique feel combined with a modern cut. Once referred to as the ‘old mine cut’ the cushion cut combines a square-cut diamond with rounded corners, much like a pillow, thus the name cushion. This particular shape can be seen in a selection of jewellery pieces including engagement rings, dress rings or as a modern twist on the classic diamond line bracelet.

Our Bespoke Creations

Each of our bespoke collections take inspiration from the precious gemstones we have hand-chosen to create them, their natural spectrum and wealth of colour as well as their cut and shape. Each jewellery suite we design is firstly hand-sketched, rendered, using the last CAD technology, and then cast. This process allows each of our jewellery designers to explore how the final piece will look and how each hand-chosen gemstone will sit within it.
